Per Entertainment Weekly:

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will reunite its original creator, Joe Murray, with the entire principal voice cast (as well as director Cosmo Segurson) for a one-off TV movie special that finds Rocko encountering the social and technological ills of 2017 (or, 2017-ish) for the first time.

The idea behind the reboot: After having been blasted into outer space with Heffer and Filburt in 1996, Rocko returns to Earth and struggles to fit into the world that the 21st century has long since accepted. Food trucks, iPhones, energy drinks, 3-D printers, and social media are all ripe for skewering by the gang.

Check out the hilarious video below for your first glimpse at how Rocko, Heffer, Filbert, and Spunky find themselves coping with pitfalls of modern, 2017 living.

Fans of Nickelodeon cartoons from the nineties won’t have to wait long for more news about the revival of another classic show, for Nickelodeon is hosting another panel at SDCC on Friday featuring the cast and crew of Hey Arnold!. It is expected that during this presentation they’ll debut the first footage from the upcoming continuation of that series: Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie.

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling will debut sometime in 2018. Are you excited to return to O-Town and catch up with Rocko and his friends? Do you think they’ll find a place where they belong in the twenty-first century? Leave a comment below and let us know!

Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling brings the characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks.  Rocko whole-heartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world.

The voice actors reprising their famed roles include: Carlos Alazraqui (The Fairly OddParents) as Rocko, Spunky, and Leon; Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Heffer Wolfe, Chuck, and Really Really Big Man; Mr. Lawrence (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Filburt Turtle and Maitre D’; Charlie Adler (Blaze and the Monster Machines) as Ed Bighead, Bev Bighead, Mr. Dupette, Grandpa Wolfe, and Mrs. Fathead; Linda Wallem (Nurse Jackie, executive producer) as Aunt Gretchen and Dr. Hutchinson; Jill Talley (SpongeBob SquarePants) as Nosey and Joe Murray as Ralph.  Additionally, Steve Little (Adventure Time) joins the cast as Cowboy and Cosmo Segurson (Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, director) as Pillow Salesman.
