M. Night Shyamalan Returns To Roots In New Trailer For The Visit

M. Night Shyamalan has been mired in mediocrity and worse for over a decade now. The once promising director has tried anything and everything to capture the magic he displayed in his trio of early films, The Sixth Sense, Signs, and my personal favorite, Unbreakable. Which brings us here, to The Visit, and the first official trailer.

Here is the official trailer for The Visit:

While it is clear Shyamalan is employing overused hand held and documentary-style camera techniques in The Visit, at least the film appears to be a return to what made Shyamalan so popular in the first place: low-key thrills with small casts.

This film could really go either way, but here’s to hoping that it at least shows off some of the storytelling prowess Shyamalan once had. The Visit opens September 11.
