3. Supergirl, “Triggers” (Oct 16th)

The second episode of Supergirl S3 finds a way to do last week’s material in a less mopey way. Kara figures out how to mourn Mon-El, but still gets some sweet sister bonding. Lena Luthor makes the puzzling decision to abandon LuthorCorp to… run a newspaper? I understand she bought it, but why is she going in on it herself? That seems like the gig to outsource, not the big named-after-you company. Speaking of, Krypto-Mom gets a This Is Us-esque storyline, and it mostly works. Detective Daughter is interesting, but Mopey Daughter’s insufferable – like Supergirl herself. How Super Mandy Moore will turn evil ought to be an interesting journey.
