Christopher Nolan is working on 4K remasters of his older movies, including the beloved Dark Knight trilogy, according to BadTaste.it.

“The wonderful thing about 4K technology is it gets closer to the resolution that we shot the films on. Finished films on 35mm have at least 6K resolution. IMAX Films updwards of 18K.”

The legendary director is personally involved with the upscaling process, which shows his dedication to the project.

“It allows us to give somebody in the home an experience that’s much, much closer to what it was like to see the original film as projected.”
