The 10 Best Mike Episodes Of ‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’

We got Movie Sign! The series return of Mystery Science Theater 3000 has been announced for April 14th. Before the new episodes, let’s take the time to look back at the best episodes featuring both hosts of the previous run. Next up, the head writer who would be host, Michael J. Nelson.

Prince of Space

If the enemy weapons have no affect then why do they keep using them on him? Find out by watching this very old Japanese kids show years before any were used to became the Power Rangers. Also the cast goes through some changes after going through a wormhole.

Laserblast

The first series finale involved the crew going to the end of the universe and becoming pure energy. This weird premise has nothing on the incredibly strange movie which features a man getting an alien weapon from poorly designed claymation aliens.

Future War

Aliens send dinosaurs to track down a runaway who is coincidentally named Runaway. The hero is so heroic he actually leaves the kid to a dinosaur so he and his love interest, a former prostitute nun can escape. It’s impossible to make up something so absurd and you’ll have to watch it for yourself to experience it.

Pumaman

He has all the powers of a Puma. Which of course means he can fly. It makes perfect sense! No, its doesn’t but still this is an incredible entertaining episode thanks to the cheap effects and the even cheaper plot.

Time Chasers

A plane becomes a time transport thanks to a professor from Castleton. At the same time Crow does some time traveling of his own and ends up messing up everyone life. When does time travel ever actually work out well for someone?

Santa Claus

What’s your favorite Christmas movie? Is it where Santa keeps kids from all over the world around like Disney’s “It’s a small world” ride and he fights a demon? If not, check out this poorly dubbed Spanish film and watch it happen.

Final Justice

Joe Don Baker is back to play a cop, again. One who doesn’t listen to his superiors, just like last time. Only difference is this one puts him up against the Mexican Mafia and he wears a cowboy hat the whole time. It’s not nearly as good as Mitchell but it is still pretty amusing.

Merlin’s Shop of Mystical Wonders

Considered one of the worst movies ever made and it really is. Merlin the great wise wizard is alive in modern times and is selling cursed items to people. By the end of it, you’ll wish magic existed to make this movie vanish.

Soultaker

The grim reapers use glow stick rings to absorb people’s souls. The real appeal of this episode is the end credits where the trio narrates what would happen to the characters afterwards. Needless to say the movies couple doesn’t get happily ever after. Also Joel comes back for a visit.

Space Mutiny

Slab Bulkhead! Fridge Largemeat! Punt Speedchunk! Just a few of the many nicknames the trio gives the main character of this cheap sci-fi film. This poorly produced movie which was actually intended to have a sequel was the best episode featuring Mike as the host of the show.
