A Look at 6 of The Most Epic Scenes of ‘Game Of Thrones’

‘Game of Thrones’ kicked off last Sunday, introducing Arya as the bad ass we always knew she was. In honor of tonight’s new episode, let’s take a look at some of the show’s most iconic moments.

  1. The Red Wedding

Arguably one of the most epic, sad, and awesome scenes of any television show I’ve ever watched.  What started off as a sweet celebration quickly turned into a mass slaughter.

  1. Cersei’s Walk Of Shame

Cersei Lannister’s walk of atonement caused a lot of controversy for the real life actress Lena Headey.  Many fans criticized the actress for her decision to use a body double.  EW says, Headey chose not to be nude for the six-minute climactic sequence “for several reasons,” among them that she wanted to focus on the emotions in her performance. She also opted out of the casting process for her double. “I was like, ‘Listen, guys she happens to have a beautiful body, but I don’t do casting,” the Emmy nominee says. “If somebody is brave enough to do this, I applaud it.”

  1. Hodor Hold The Door

The season 6 episode “The door” was a very emotional one.  On one hand, we finally get some back story on Hodor.  Once we learn how he got his name, and begin to love his character even more…..he dies.

  1. The Battle Of The Bastards

If there’s one man who can take on an entire army, by himself, it’s Jon Snow.  He was prepared to be the only one to face off against 5,000 Bolton Army men, but thanks to Littlefinger he didn’t have to.  In an epic turn of events right as Snow turns around to take on the army the Knights of Vale began to shoot their arrows.  While the battle was great, another great scene that happened right after this is Ramsay’s death.  I had never been so happy to see someone die since King Joffrey.  Bolton went back to Winterfell thinking he was safe until Snow’s army found him.

After viciously beating him, Jon then ties up Ramsay and lets his starved hounds eat him.

  1. Introduction Of Lady Lyanna of Mormont

If my future daughter turns out to be like Lady Lyanna, I wouldn’t be mad at all.  As such a young age, this queen is feisty, fierce, and not afraid.  Though her army is small, they are mighty.

  1. Gendry Calling Arya His Lady

The last time we saw Gendry he had just been set free by Davos Seaworth and was put on a boat leaving Dragonstone.  Before this, he expresses his feelings to Arya.  The character hasn’t been seen since season 3, and fans have no idea about his whereabouts.  The actor who plays him Joe Dempsie has confirmed he will appear in the current season.  “Very fortunately from what I’ve seen, it’s been nothing but interest and excitement and some quite witty memes,” he told the Los Angeles Times.
